Lined Pond Dredging – Mount Holland Lithium Mine, Covalent Lithium

Dredge Robotics were contracted by Covalent Lithium to undertake dredging of their HDPE lined process water pond at Mount Holland. Using our proprietary liner-safe robotic dredging technology, we were able to remove accumulated sediment and restore the dam capacity without any requirement for confined space entry or working over water constraints. Utilising our sophisticated suite of sensors and control systems, the robot was able to safely navigate the pond while degrading and removing the compacted solids. The pond was kept in full operation while dredging was undertaken, meaning works were able to be conducted outside of shutdown windows.

The project was completed on time with no safety or environmental incidents. The team at Dredge Robotics were proud to work with yet another fantastic lithium producer in WA and to be able to support them in ramping up their exciting new operations.

“We engaged the team from Dredge Robotics to remove sediment from our process water pond which had accumulated during the commissioning process, which had to be conducted while the pond remained in use. Their liner-safe technology was able to safely clean the pond back to bare liner and restore capacity, without the need to take the asset out of service. The approach to safety taken by the entire team was outstanding and we would not hesitate in recommending the Dredge Robotics team to potential Clients.”
